Cynthia
joined Northeast Action in 2004 as Training Director. She has an extensive
background in project coordination, program development, research, writing,

Cynthia brings over 20 years of organizing
experience to Northeast Action. She began work as a VISTA volunteer in
1980, developing organizing campaigns in Illinois to win access to health
care for the uninsured. In 1986, she returned to the East Coast to work
with Mass Fair Share, and became director of Massachusetts Citizen Action.
Cynthia joined the Northeast Action staff in 1991 to develop the Progressive
Policy Initiative, a think tank for the progressive network. Growing out
of this work, Cynthia staffed the development of A Call to Action—Labor's
Agenda for Economic Conversion in New England. Since becoming Northeast
Action's Executive Director in 2000, Cynthia has led Northeast Action
to shift from a focus on coordinated regional issue campaigns to a new
focus on organizational infrastructure building for our affiliates and
allied organizations.
